**Position Information**:
Liverpool Public School was established in 1863 and is built on the traditional lands of the Cabrogal of the Darug Nation. The school serves a diverse community, 90% of our 630 students come from a language background other than English. The school is proud of its varied multicultural population, with 67 cultural backgrounds represented, 20% of our students have been impacted by the refugee experience and 2.56% of the student population identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders. The school holds high expectations for all students.
Our teachers are outstanding educators who collaboratively develop and implement effective teaching and learning programs based on evidence-informed content and pedagogy. Explicit, systematic and sequential teaching of fundamental literacy and numeracy skills underpins all decisions made for our students. Our school receives significant equity funding, which is used to support students academically, socially and emotionally through targeted intervention programs. Our school offers a range of extra-curricular activities.
Our aim is for every student, every teacher and every leader, to continue to improve every year. Our core values are to be safe, be respectful, and be a learner. These values form the foundation for student wellbeing and are further developed through the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework which promotes a safe and supportive learning environment.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with proven ability to lead whole school curriculum and ensuring a collaborative and consistent pedagogical approach across the school and creating a positive culture of high expectations, where students learn and grow.
2. Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and ability to coordinate student performance and programs using internal and external assessment data to evaluate, refine and improve teaching practice.
3. Dynamic leadership and networking skills that foster partnerships and connections with primary and secondary schools, and beyond schools, for innovative and powerful learning, wellbeing and transition programs tailored to the needs of all students.
4. A highly visible, passionate and approachable leader with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to genuinely engage and build partnerships with all community members to further enhance the positive school culture.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
