Public Affairs Officer

Outstanding opportunity to showcase your strong written skills and ability to develop high-quality engaging content for a range of audiences and platforms within the supportive and collaborative Media team of a highly regarded government owned corporation.
Initial 12 month non-ongoing contract (or S26 temporary transfer) with potential for extension. Parkes location with flexible working conditions, including flexibility to work from home part of the week.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Support the delivery of strategic media and communications activities:
- Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies
- Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and advise clients on activities including media opportunities, issues management, stakeholder engagement and effective ways to drive visitation to tourism destinations
- Prepare communications materials including: media releases, media statements, talking points, social media and web content
- Identify and support Ministerial and general media opportunities and events
- Prepare communications reports including daily media monitoring reports and media impact reports
- Experience working with media including managing time sensitive requests
- Experience developing high-quality engaging content for a range of audiences and platforms
- Ability to write, edit and coordinate departmental and ministerial correspondence and briefs
- Experience developing impactful media and communications strategies and materials
- Highly developed writing skills and attention to detail, including the ability to present complex information in an engaging and straightforward manner to different audiences
- Media experience including proactive pitching and securing media opportunities will be highly regarded
- Australian citizenship
