The Team
The position of Adviser, Office of the Deputy Secretary forms a part of the Office of the Deputy Secretary Branch in the Rural and Regional Victoria group.
The Office of the Deputy Secretary (ODS) supports the Deputy Secretary in leading the Regional and Suburban Development group to efficiently and effectively deliver on the priorities of DJSIR and the Victorian Government. The Office has responsibility for public administration, ministerial coordination, communications, and workforce strategy and workplace culture.
The Role
As an Adviser within the Office of the Deputy Secretary, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Deputy Secretary and the Regional and Suburban Development group's senior executives. In supporting the integrated delivery of a wide range of strategic initiatives, you will provide high level authoratative advice to the Head of Office and senior stakeholders on program and delivery outcomes, strategic directions and priority projects across Victoria's regions and Melbourne suburbs.

**Key Accountabilities will include**:

- Provide authoritative, timely and accurate advice to the Deputy Secretary and Head of the Office of the Deputy Secretary on complex and sensitive matters relating to regional development, suburban development, and outdoor recreation.
- Support and prepare the development and review of concise and compelling reports, briefs and submissions on complex and sensitive issues to ensure quality and timeliness of advice and facilitate effective decision-making.
- Working with the Regional and Suburban Development Executive team, actively contribute to delivery of group priorities and identify opportunities to support business improvements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders across DJSIR, Regional and Suburban Development and our program delivery partners to ensure delivery priorities can be achieved.
- Manage expectations by sharing information as early as possible, clearly communicating the Deputy Secretary's priorities and feedback by sensitively handling conflict.
- Undertake time critical projects at the direction of the Head of Office
