About us
System Governance Unit (SG) is a unit within Governance and Integrity Policy (GIP), Integrity, Legal and Law Reform (ILLR) of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).

**There are four teams in System Governance**:

- Appointments - which manages the high priority appointments of judicial officers and key board appointments within the Attorney-General's portfolio.
- Governance Strategy and Review - which is responsible for strategic reviews of key justice system entities, management of funding through the Appeal Costs Board, and providing support to the Judicial Entitlements Panel.
- Legal Assistance: which drives the funding and reporting of services for the community legal sector at both Commonwealth and State level.
- Honorary Justice Services Support - which provides policy, day-to-day management and operational oversight of Victoria's Honorary Justices.

About the role
The Adviser, Appointments plays a key role in the judicial and other board appointments processes. Reporting to the Senior Adviser, Appointments, the Adviser forms part of a small team that administers and manages the appointments process for judicial officers across the key jurisdictions and relevant boards.
About you
- Experience in coordinating significant volumes of documents and information requests
- Strong written skills with the ability to prepare policy proposals, project briefs, reports, service plans and recommendations on complex issues
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to work collaboratively with our partners across the department and the broader justice system

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
