**About the Role**:
This is an exciting role within the Industry Guidance Unit where you will work with a range of stakeholders to assess and build state of knowledge and capability through collaboration, engagement, and partnership. Reporting to the Team Leader of the Industry Guidance Unit, the role supports small to medium businesses understand their obligations to assess and proactively manage their risks to prevent harm to human health and the environment. As an Industry Guidance Officer at EPA, you will develop clear, high-quality, and practical guidance informed by, and tailored to the end user. You will be involved in the research, project planning, content development, and implementation of industry guidance materials.

You will evaluate the effectiveness our guidance has on building Industry State of Knowledge and look at continuous improvement opportunities that support businesses to comply with their environmental protection obligations.

**In this role you will**:

- Working under the direction of the Manager, Industry Guidance, plan and deliver guidance to support industry to assess and manage risk to prevent harm to human health and the environment from pollution and waste, including guidance production, project management, and external engagement.
- Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high performing team culture, including by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve teamwork practices.
- Partner with industry and industry associations to drive best practice in environmental protection, to increase state of knowledge and enable duty holders to operate within the regulatory guardrails established under the Environmental Protection Act 2017.
- Collaborate with Public Affairs in preparing documents for publication to ensure compliance with organisational requirements.

**Skills and Experience**:

- A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience in developing technical design solutions or guidance materials.
- Knowledge of Victoria’s environmental protection framework.
- A broad understanding of environmental regulation as it relates to pollution and waste is desirable.
- Management skills and demonstrated capability to plan, monitor and deliver services and support consistent with organisational priorities, including risk identification and management, budget development and management; optimise the allocation and use of resources; and evaluate project / program effectiveness.
- A proven record of achievement in a similar role which contributes to organisational excellence, high standards of performance and a positive organisational culture.
