You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders on a variety of complex and dynamic economic policy issues, while contributing to the development of expert economic analysis, modelling, and advice, often within tight timeframes and tailored to a specific audience.The Economic Strategy Division applies economic theory and analysis to expertly advise on the Queensland economy, both in terms of its current performance and future directions, and analyses, advocates and develops innovative policy options to promote sustainable long-term growth.We have two positions available, one permanent flexible full-time position, and one temporary (up to 18 months) flexible full-time.In this role, you will: - Review, analyse and provide advice on a broad range of economic policy matters including economic growth, employment, regulatory reforms, infrastructure, regional development, industries and the environment. Prepare complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, publications, and correspondence. Monitor and report on economic and policy developments internationally and nationally, including providing advice on their implications for the Queensland economy. Develop strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders across government, including other business units within Queensland Treasury.Experience you will demonstrate: - Undertaking and providing economic analysis and advice to clients and senior executives on complex economic policy matters. Ability to write and communicate clearly including communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences. Exercising judgement, authority and influence to effectively respond to team priorities and client requests. Supporting the delivery of highly complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, publications, and correspondence, often within tight timeframes.There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, degree or postgraduate studies in economics or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
