The Opportunity

Lead a multi-discipline team of economists, process and business analysts to ensure that Integrated Gas makes robust investment decisions and allocates capital to meet production targets and growth opportunities at the lowest cost. This includes delivery of operated, non-operated development, commercial, exploration and M&A opportunities.

The Economist Lead works in collaboration with the Assets and other Functions to ensure the success of the whole of Integrated Gas.

**Responsibilities**:

- Directly oversees a multi-discipline team including economists, process and business analysts
- Lead end to end value creation across Integrated Gas
- Establish and oversee the evaluation of complex projects and economic models
- Support Operated Asset, Non-Operated Asset and Asset Services economic assessments and indicators
- Economic Discipline authority including assurance responsibilities
- Steward in capital allocation, projects and wells core process.
- Manage and maintain all necessary relationships to generate annual business plans and ensure business success (joint venture, leadership teams, corporate teams, and service providers
- Work collaboratively to prioritise asset opportunities to appropriately allocate capital to meet investment and capital criteria
- Lead the interface with Origin Corporate and joint venture partners economics divisions
- Lead a work environment that creates agile ways of working and develops ownership, pride and accountability of economic standards at all levels of the company
- Identify and develop capabilities with the organisation for continual growth

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have 10 years’ experience in upstream oil and gas economic valuation. You will have highly developed communication and people skills, be a high level thinker. Have demonstrated ability to drive solutions and ensure delivery of complex tasks over a wide variety of economic issues with mínimal supervision.
- An understanding of all aspects of the oil and gas value chain from exploration, and appraisal through to development and operations
- A deep understanding of macroeconomic drivers of resources industries in Australia and globally
- Leadership of multi-discipline teams in an industry setting
- Formal tertiary qualification in finance / economics / engineering
