We’re currently recruiting for a
**PMO / Project Specialist** to work on a variety of initiatives relating to the competency review, uplift and management of the Infrastructure Projects team within a large Rail Operator / Organisation.

Commencing either immediately or in January with a minimum 3-month contract and opportunities for extension and conversion to permanent, your role will report to a key member of the Projects leadership team.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Update education, certification, experience, and skills requirement for each role within the Infrastructure Projects team
- Review and update Position Descriptions for Project Managers, Project Engineers, Planners/Schedulers etc.
- Review and update training and competency matrices in line with requirements and current workforce
- Analyse current state, highlight issues and risks (gap analysis), and develop mitigations to these (additional training, opportunities for additional experience, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) etc.)
- Define and align role specific training and other requirements in line with HR training and development frameworks
- Develop a variety of policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms for the ongoing management of staff competency management

**Skills and Experience**
- Prior experience as a Project / Program Manager, PMO Advisor / Specialist or similar. We would also consider Human Resource (HR), Business Partner (BP) or similar backgrounds.
- Good understanding of how Projects are developed and managed
- Rail and/or other Heavy Industry experience (e.g. Defence, Aviation, Mining, Oil and Gas, Automotive, Trucking, Power, Bus) would be highly regarded
- Experience developing Position / Job Descriptions for Managers, Engineers, Planners, Schedulers and related professionals
- Good spoken and written English language skills including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels
