**About the Role**:
The Coordinator Assessments is responsible for providing expert policy and environmental impact assessment advice on the implications of policy and development proposals to a range of stakeholders, at local, state and national levels.

The role develops and coordinates policy and planning responses, on behalf of the Department for Environment and Water and on behalf of whole-of-government for _Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999_ matters, to complex environmental impact and sustainable economic development issues across the State where they relate to the sustainable use and management of natural resources, protected areas and cultural heritage. In developing responses to these matters the Coordinator Assessments needs to work with other relevant experts across the Department and Government.

The Coordinator Assessments works within a small team under broad direction at time representing both the Department and the Government on committees and working parties at state and national level.

**Role outcomes**:

- The involvement, influence and reputations of the Department and the Government in relation to issues of sustainable ecological development and awareness of unresolved/emerging environmental issues is enhanced by engaging key stakeholders and establishing/maintaining networks.
- Whole-of-government positions on environmental impact assessment is supported by comprehensive and expert analysis and advice.
- The sustainable use and management of natural resources, protected areas and cultural heritage is supported by effective initiation, planning, implementation and evaluation of reviews, reforms and other significant projects.
- Whole-of-government policy positions and responses on the environmental implications of policy and development proposals are developed, contributed to and coordinated.
- The Department and the Government are effectively represented on committees and working parties at State and National levels.
- Departmental responses are formulated to issues arising from ministerial reports and cabinet submissions by effective review, analysis and investigation.

**Contract**: Ongoing

**Special Conditions**:

- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- May require some intra/interstate travel

**Remuneration**: ASO7 $104,938 min - $113,435 max p.a.
