**About the Role**:
Melbourne Polytechnic (MP) plays a vital role in delivering the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program on behalf of the Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs (DHA) and Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DEWR) across five regions in Melbourne and Bendigo. Working closely with subcontractors under the Melbourne AMEP and Northern SEE networks, the Community Liaison and Engagement Coordinator will support stakeholders in identifying, maintaining, and enhancing external relationships, monitor migration and employment trends, promote program visibility within contract regions, and facilitate collaboration among providers to ensure program quality and innovation dissemination.

**Duties**:
**Leadership accountability**

Demonstrate collaborative work practices and promote a workplace environment focussed on staff empowerment, efficient work practices and encouragement of initiative and innovation.

**Community Liaison**

Working closely with the Community Liaison and Engagement Manager to observe, research and report on migration and employment trends and use this to develop and implement program changes.

**community connection**

Building direct relationships with Settlement agencies, Government agencies and community groups that support the success of the Melbourne AMEP and Northern SEE programs.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- A suitable combination of qualifications at a Bachelor Degree minimum tertiary level in education, communications or related field. Along with experience and demonstrated skills working in settlement and community services or within a cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.
- Industry experience demonstrated by working relationships with government agencies, migration agencies and settlement networks.
- High level of written and oral communication skills as well as networking and interpersonal skills including the capacity to write up reports and case studies, lead planning meetings, collaboratively problem solve, clearly articulate issues and establish and maintain communication systems.
- Experience in marketing a program to drive participation and strengthen industry awareness using a variety of modes including, presentation skills, video, social media platforms etc.
