The opportunity

Our Business Optimisation team are looking for passionate Business Optimisation Portfolio Manager to join during an exciting period of customer, operational and process transformation.

This is a pivotal role as we embark on a large transformation program of work partnering with our business units’ stakeholders to identify and implement business optimisation initiatives to improve customer outcomes.

Further responsibilities will include:

- Lead and/or support multiple workstreams, function independently in ambiguous and evolving environment
- Undertake a structured approach to process optimisation to enable better customer and business outcomes, improving efficiency and creating an improved customer experience
- Discover, analyse, measure and document current and future state processes to understand root causes of issues
- Initiate, facilitate and recommend improvements creatively solving problems and considering innovative solutions
- Provide leadership and guidance to members of the Business Optimisation team
- Actively working with employees, leaders, customers, and other stakeholders to understand, measure and implement changes to processes, roles, and operations
- Ensuring data-driven recommendations analysing customer and operational data and measuring the impact of recommended changes

Your story so far

You:

- Build reputation as a recognised expert in portfolio management and optimisation - delivering sustainable improvements in the Claims/Consumer/Enterprise portfolio performance, consistent with the AUSPAC strategy
- Forward-looking thought leader with an understanding of best practice portfolio management, emerging market trends locally and globally, evolving customer needs and general market conditions from a process lens perspective
- Manage projects/ program of work autonomously, including leading teams, engaging and influencing stakeholders, proactively communicating risks and issues, and delivering solutions that improve outcomes for customers and QBE
- Lean six sigma professional with extensive experience in a Business Optimisation role leading and managing Business Improvement initiatives (you may bring this experience from different industries or sectors and if so, we recognise the unique perspective you’ll bring with this)
- Employ structured problem-solving methods to work through ambiguous problems and complex portfolio optimisation opportunities
- Leverage data driven insights to inform better decision making and embed a culture of Process Led improvements underpinned by Technology & Data & Analytics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across the insurance value chain
- Establish collaborative and trusting relationships with the business’s key internal leaders to ensure a free flow of ideas and information across the business, leading to suitable processes and overall business performance enhancement
- Guide team and directly influence customer strategies using analytical problem solving and leveraging data tools to provide market data and customer specific recommendations
- Thrive on understanding and solving complex customer and business problems and can think outside the box to find creative solutions to problems
- Are curious with excellent analytical skills and a high attention to detail which allows you to be able to understand end-to-end business processes and come up with ideas for improvement
- Are passionate about business process re-engineering, process analysis, customer continuous improvement and efficiency and how you’ve used these skills to drive improved outcomes
