As a bookkeeper, you would be expected to record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconcile bank statements and credit card statements as well as maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Processing payroll and prepare payroll tax filings
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Preparing tax returns and other financial documents as required
- Communicating with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
**The Successful Applicant**:
In order to be successful for this position, you must have:
- Proven experience using Xero software
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and competency in dealing with large spreadsheets
- Familiarity with tax regulations and requirements
