Payroll, Audit and Compliance Manager

Overview (Text Only): The Manager - Payroll, Audit and Compliance, is a key member of Foot Locker APACs Finance team and plays a key function in our organizational goals related to our payroll compliance. Reporting to the Director of Payroll and Workforce management, Payroll, Audit and Compliance plays a critical role in supporting and overseeing the end to end payroll, statutory reporting function, ensuring our processes are compliant and current with changes in legislations across Pacific and Asia. Key to success is the ability to interpret complex labour legislation, understand the full employee lifecycle and deliver to Payroll and store teams as practices and processes with training materials to ensure compliancy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaboration with people across functions, cultures and countries. Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor legislation including relevant awards, regulations, and emerging trends in Labor, and coordinate with relevant business teams to timely implement recommended changes.
- Maintain store close payroll procedures to ensure workforce scheduling and timecard practices comply with relevant legislative necessary for completing payroll accurately and provide guidance to ensure compliance across the CX Team.
- Partner with HRIS and IT functions, to implement and test any changes to Payroll systems and calculations, to ensure compliance with legislations.
- Review Timecard statements with a focus on flagged exceptions, to ensure stores are following required processes and procedures required for payroll completion, and complete additional training where required.
- Complete reviews and auditing of payroll calculations, Leave accruals and payments, and payroll statutory reporting to ensure system and process accuracy.
- Provide support to HR team with Payroll analysis - Annualised Salary and casual conversion data, and ad hoc payroll or work pattern analysis.
- Manage statutory requirements for Contractors, including Superannuation and reporting, providing support to business to ensure understanding of requirements.
- Assistance with preparation and review of Annual Payroll Statutory and Tax requirements.
- Liaise with HR and Global Mobility in completion of Tax clearance documentation.
- Support Payroll team with SOX Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and documentation.
- Provide Support to Payroll Operations team, including processing payroll during periods of leave to meet our weekly payroll deadlines.
- Project management / Special ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
- Outstanding attention to detail and a meticulous commitment to payroll accuracy
- Deep understanding of payroll and legislative compliance obligations, Australian Retail Award experience a must, New Zealand experience a plus
- Five to seven years of relevant Payroll operations experience, Rockfast and ADP is a plus
- A highly collaborative approach to problem solving and excellent people management and leadership skills
- Tertiary education in Finance, Accounting, HR, Management or other relevant disciplines
- Fluent in spoken and written English language
- High-level analytical and critical thinking skills
