We are currently looking to recruit a Risk and Safety Specialist. This role can be based at either Seven Hills, Artarmon, or Alexandria.

**Responsibilities will include**:
**Safety**:

- Provide specialist advice and recommend solutions aligned to the Safety Health & Wellbeing framework
- Identify risk management opportunities and partner with business to develop and implement sustainable solutions
- Provide specialist advice and manage Injury Management to support the wellness of the workforce
- Proactively manage claims to achieve the most cost effective and safe outcome by identifying and managing return to work of individual claims
- Conduct specific audits/assessments and reports and provide follow up support for business leaders to develop and implement safety risk management plans

**Operational Risk**:

- Support the development and implementation of the Risk management strategy, Risk frameworks and methodology to increase operational risk maturity
- Facilitates risk profiling activity along the operational business unit owners and managers
- Works with business unit owners to provide mitigations and plans including coaching, workshops and other activity, including oversight and development of:

- Business Continuity Plan
- Compliance Plan
- Fraud Control Plan
- Assurance Plan
- Business Licences
- Others as necessary
- Delivers risk-based reviews of businesses process to determine whether they are being executed and managed effectively, supporting a continuous improvement approach
- Identifies whether the design and execution of controls are adequate and effective in mitigating risks, including establishing a robust control environment, including control and process testing
- Provides incident management oversight and supports the business owners to respond to investigating, managing and resolving incidents and escalations, including the reporting of significant reportable breaches

**Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and contemporary safety and risk management initiatives.
- Analytical thinking - knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organisational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business
- Demonstrated ability to liaise, advise and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders including management, staff, industrial organisations and external agencies on safety and protective security issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrated experience in implementing effective change management projects
- Current Drivers license, and willingness to travel between sites (including interstate travel)

**Required**:

- Tertiary qualification/s in Work, Health and Safety and or Risk Management or associated fields
- Relevant industry experience and or specialist qualifications

**Desirable**
- Experience in General insurance or financial services industry, and exposure to risk management or compliance role
