**About the role**:
Legal Services Department (LSD) is currently recruiting for a VPS4 Program Support Officer to join the team in the newly established Strategy, Planning and Performance Unit (SPPU). The SPPU is responsible for the ongoing delivery of current programs / projects in LSD as well as identifying new initiatives that will support service delivery to our Sworn Prosecutor and Specialist Police Lawyer groups. SPPU initiatives include but are not limited to:

- OHS, Health and Wellbeing.
- Strategic workforce planning including staff and resource allocation modelling, minor and major organisational change management.
- diversity and inclusion employment programs (Graduate career pathways, recruitment campaigns and marketing).
- Communication and marketing strategies for internal and external stakeholders (digital / online, intranet development).
- Strategic Investment Planning.
- Accommodation and Infrastructure.
- Project / program administration, support and guidance.

Reporting to the VPS5 SPPU Managers, the initial priorities of the position relate to OHS, health and wellbeing initiatives as well as strategic and workforce planning including organisational realignment projects. This position plays a critical role in supporting Management with implementing workplace change initiatives within LSD. This role will be required to engage with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation and other Government agencies to promote successful outcomes, meet reporting deadlines and ensure key performance indicators are met.
Applicants with well-developed stakeholder engagement experience, accomplished with coordinating / delivering a variety of programs and projects and who are proficient in preparing written reports/briefs are encouraged to apply. We are looking for an individual who has an eye for detail, problem solving skills and who will thrive on delivering exciting new programs for the Legal Services Department.

**Your duties will include**:

- Assist in the coordination of project / program activities, develop guidelines and procedures, and support project delivery.
- Undertake research and analysis of data, identify issues, risks and benefits and prepare written recommendations.
- draft issues papers and briefing notes for the SPPU Leadership Team (including the Branch Manager) on matters relating to operational communications and consultation strategies to support program delivery.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships, with key personnel across the Department and other work units.

- Proven ability to work flexibly across multiple work streams, with limited supervision.
- Experience with working effectively with other team members, and a positive and collaborative nature.

- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop, monitor and support stakeholder relationships as well as constructively manage stakeholder concerns and issues.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.

- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
- As a member of the Legal Services Department you will be located, on selection, at a specific office within a Division for a particular advertised opportunity. However, given occasional legal service demand issues you may be required at times to undertake varied work within the Department.
