Our teams use technology, automation, and innovation to try and decode the world’s biggest technological challenges in areas such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and more.

What is the focus of the role?

In this role, you will work as the Product Owner for the Telstra Edge Computing mission within the Edge and Cloud Computing team. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of edge and distributed computing products and solutions that help customers to maximise the benefits of cloud services and data analytics to innovate, optimise, and grow their business.

The Product Owner leads and provides direction to a cross-functional team, developing and driving product requirements that meet customer needs and ensuring the product strategy aligns with group and corporate strategies, and delivers to corporate objectives. You will be responsible for a superior customer experience and commercialising new technologies that enhance Telstra’s product strategies and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities
- Using your domain expertise and customer insights, develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap and deliver the product roadmap.
- Lead the execution of the mission strategy for the Cloud mission, ensuring delivery to key milestones and budget.
- Contribute to planning, in a year and over multi-year horizons, at the Group and Function level to create the OKRs.
- Translate strategic OKRs into Epics, resource requests, and dependencies for each quarter.
- Take accountability for the full product portfolio lifecycle from design, development, launch, embedding, support, and measurement.
- Take accountability for product portfolio scalability including optimisation of delivery models, AGILE way of work, and product economics optimization.
- Maintain alignment of the product with the group and organisational objectives and provide guidance to others on decision-making related to the product.
- Ensure team member’s objectives align with what they are expected to deliver. Empower and support the team to execute on priorities and achieve outstanding results.
- Identify and anticipate complex and systematic challenges that may impact the success of the team. Mitigate risks and impediments impacting the team's ability to complete sprint goals.
- Contribute deep commercial acumen and product economics skills to continuously improve product portfolio performance, including identifying and addressing market trends, commercial matters, competitive threats, and regulatory issues.
- Remove barriers for team members and ask, “How can I help?”

The Products and Technology Business Unit consists of Groups, Missions, and Chapters:

- You will work within the newly formed Edge and Cloud Computing sub Group in DAS/BAS Group. Each mission within this group is led by a Product Owner. Initially, you will be leading the Edge Computing mission as a Product Owner, although this may change from time to time based on a quarterly review of business needs.
