ANZ Private caters to ANZ's highest net worth individuals and family groups, assisting them to manage, grow and preserve their assets. We provide our clients with a personalised relationship and holistic solutions tailored to their values, aspirations, needs, concerns and with regards to their financial situation.

As the Portfolio Manager, Equities, your mission is to manage the ANZ Private Bank Australian and Global equities portfolios (which include emerging markets, listed property and listed infrastructure) and develop our portfolio quantitative tools. You will work in close collaboration with 12 colleagues in the ANZ Private Bank Chief Investment Office (CIO) team, who collectively manage $6bn of investments on behalf of our high net-worth clients.

What will your day look like

Your key accountabilities would include (but not limited to) the following:
1. Manage, monitor and critique our equity & real asset portfolios and underlying managers to determine their ongoing suitability

Research and evaluate the portfolio construction for each multi-manager portfolio, in consultation with the Head of Portfolio Management
Ongoing monitoring and due diligence of incumbent strategies
- this entails critiquing underlying managers according to key evaluation metrics for assessing their ongoing suitability, developing and analysing equity portfolio risk metrics, and documenting your analysis and views
Engage with external research consultant to support internal due diligence of active fund managers
Evaluate annual manager ESG survey responses
Performance monitoring
Engage and share knowledge at monthly Portfolio Management meetings
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of any manager changes
Field queries, present manager updates and performance reports to internal advisors, their clients and internal governance forums
Enhance customer experience and help drive Funds Under Management (FUM) retention and growth by ensuring portfolios are well managed and supporting the business as described above

2. Develop and manage our quantitative portfolio monitoring framework for our diversified multi-asset funds.

Develop framework for aggregating performance and holdings data for each asset class, into a whole of portfolio report
Analyse portfolio positioning and provide feedback to our Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) forum
Take initiative in improving our reporting processes
What will you bring?

**To be successful in the role, you will have the following**:
Experience in portfolio management, equity research, qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Strong technical understanding of equities
Finance or Economics Degree, with industry relevant post graduate qualification (or studying towards one), eg Masters or CFA
Programming or strong excel modelling skills
Resilience, results-driven attitude with a strong growth mindset - you embrace coaching and feedback, and the opportunity to provide the same for others
Can-do attitude, with proven ability to build productive relationships with team members and clients
Ability to identify, monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies, and discern appropriate risk responses
