As part of the continued growth of our services in the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors, ERM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Approvals Specialist / Environmental Planning Consultant to join our team in Melbourne. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in supporting decarbonisation efforts and helping drive forward the development of large-scale renewable energy projects, as well as transport projects. You will have access to ERM’s global Impact Assessment Technical Community, sharing multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the industry. Responsibilities include:

- Lead and/or support environmental approvals processes, environmental impact assessments and technical reports across a range of projects.
- Develop skills in technical competency, project management, and general consulting and decision-making.
- Coordinate and monitor project activities, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.
- Contribute to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with ERM’s policies and processes.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM teams locally and globally as part of project teams and ERM’s Technical Communities.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in statutory planning and/or environmental approvals, consulting industry experience highly desirable.
- Broader experience in legislation of other jurisdictions, environmental management and stakeholder management would be viewed favourably.
- Strong knowledge of project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
- Solid experience building sustaining relationships with clients.
- Excellent writing, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, and people skills.
- Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas.
- Authorisation to work in Australia.
