**Role and Duties**
The Assistant Director is responsible for developing and delivering the Energy Data Reform program of work led by the Energy Security Board (ESB). The program of work includes a project to gain visibility of the Consumer Energy Resources (CER), which will examine how CER datasets can be obtained and made available to data users for planning and investment. It also includes a project to improve the transparency of energy bills to understand what consumers pay for and how services affect bills and choice. The ESB is leading these projects to identify priority datasets, identify options for new datasets and assess how they can be used by regulators (such as the AER). The AER will closely support these projects working with ESB and other market bodies.
The Assistant Director will provide technical and specialist policy expertise to the ESB throughout the course of these projects and steer the projects to achieve a desired outcome. They will also lead any regulatory reform work necessary to deliver the datasets to energy market bodies.
