Salary Range: $122,949 - $135,013 + Attractive Superannuation
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Human Resource Officer to join the Culture, Strategy and Planning Section, People Services Branch, Chief People Officer Division.
As an EL1 Assistant Director, you will partner with a range of clients to improve the delivery of people services. You’ll align business needs with corporate strategy and deliver contemporary and innovative HR solutions to enhance business operations and organisational culture. You will use data and insights to provide expert advice and recommendations on a range of complex HR topics. You will utilise professional relationships across your HR network to provide an end-to-end service. You will lead, and may manage, a specialist team that fosters a positive and inclusive culture, inspiring the delivery of outcomes. You will work in a virtual and dynamic team environment.
**Duties**
This position may be available across various teams within the Culture, Strategy and Planning section. Duties include:
**Culture**:
- Lead the delivery of cultural programs and initiatives
- lead formal rewards and recognition initiatives
- collaborate with colleagues, diversity committees and networks to support the delivery of initiatives that empower our people to do great things
- lead initiatives to drive innovation
- implement strategies for continuous improvement
- foster a dynamic work environment by promoting APS Values and the Secretary’s Charter of Leadership Expectations
- promote diversity and inclusion
- align organisational culture with overarching business goals.
**Workforce Strategy and Planning**:
- Develop and implement workforce strategies and action plans
- lead workforce planning activities that align to APS Reform
- deliver workforce planning initiatives to achieve business outcomes
- build and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels; analyse and interpret data and information from multiple sources to provide specialist technical advice and guidance on workforce planning issues
- gather, analyse and interpret business, HR and external market information to shape and structure the workforce
- undertake job design, job evaluation and workforce design.
**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
**Notes**
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
