**ABOUT NQBP**

NQBP is one of Australia’s largest port authorities by tonnage throughput. Around half of Queensland’s trade, by tonnage, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point.

**THE ROLE**

Reporting directly to the General Manager Corporate Services this pivotal role’s primary focus is to lead and advise on all Human Resources, Remuneration, Employee and Industrial Relations (IR)related matters, seeking to develop integrated solutions across the business.

You will be proficient in identifying best practice and contemporary methods with an imminent focus on providing expert direction on the development and implementation of Human Resources (HR) policies, strategies, plans, systems and processes. This includes performance management, development, and remuneration processes. Two Enterprise Bargaining Agreement’s (EBA) have already been negotiated and implemented. A key focus within these next 12 months for this role will be the development of a new remuneration framework and programs fostering culture enhancement.

Other responsibilities include:

- Providing recommendations to management relating to HR related strategies and initiatives
- Evaluating and anticipating HR related needs, seeking to develop integrated solutions across the business and formulating partnerships with functional units to manage the delivery of a value-added service to all stakeholders that reflect NQBP corporate objectives.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing NQBP IR strategies and plans and ensuring they address NQBP organisational needs for the future.
- Committing to a continued focus on the development of a new renumeration framework alongside the adoption of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Provide leadership in the management of Enterprise Agreements and workplace changes that support NQBP’s objectives.
- Maintain and develop NQBP’s reputation across all stakeholders.
- Actively promoting and implementing innovation.
- Supporting NQBP’s governance by developing relevant functional policies and practices that contribute to the development of standards adapted to NQBP.
- Nurturing and enhancing existing stakeholder relationships including relevant government agencies and a small group of Union representatives.

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

It is essential you will be able to demonstrate a wealth of experience in implementing efficiencies across all HR facets including IR/HR/ER services, remuneration and benefit structures, as well as enterprise agreements in a complex and diverse work environment, ensuring an effective level of customer focus.

- A strong attention to detail and ability to analyse, streamline, innovate and execute changes collaboratively.
- Be able to articulate and communication a united vision.
- Strong communication, relationship management and influencing skills.
