Hands on operational HR Manager required by growing private business based South of the River
Our client is a privately owned group of companies across predominantly the mining and resources sector.
Growth has created the opportunity for an HR Manager to join their team based South of the River taking responsibility for the entire HR and recruitment function.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provision of all generalist advice related to the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards
- Managing the end to end recruitment process
- Managing corporate onboarding and inductions, and client mobilisation
- Raising required contracts of employment or changes of employment documentation
- Provision of advice related to the modern awards, client contracts and enterprise agreements
- Coaching and development of line management in effective conflict resolution and leading performance, grievance and disciplinary matters
- Ensuring review, design and development of HR policies to remain contemporary
- Managing workers compensation and injury management process
- Managing payroll and supporting process where required
- Leading and developing the apprenticeship program
- Leading exit interviews
- Supporting engagement and retention initiatives
This is a hands-on operational human resources role with a strong focus on blue collar recruitment. The position will oversee a team of 2 but will be the sole human resources specialist. It is essential that you possess a qualification within human resources or a related specialism, coupled with recent generalist human resources experience related to the mining, resources or heavy industrial sectors and exposure to the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards. You will be pragmatic in your solutions provision, a self-starter and able to build effective relationships with your major stakeholders to support best practice and organisational growth. This position is based South of the River and will be an office based role.
