**ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION**

COMCAR provides high quality, secure and confidential car-with-driver and other ground transport services to the Governor-General and, Prime Minister (both current and former), parliamentarians, members of the Federal Judiciary and other high office holders.

COMCAR also provides ground transport and associated support services to visiting Guests of Government such as Royalty, Heads of State, Heads of Government and other foreign dignitaries. COMCAR frequently delivers services during major international events, such as the ASEAN Special Summit, Group of Twenty meetings (G20), the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and other Ministerial forums hosted in Australia. COMCAR has a national presence, with drivers located in each state and territory.?

COMCAR also supports the activities of the Australian Political Exchange Council through the provision of secretariat services to the Council. The secretariat provides support for Australian delegations travelling to other countries, manages and maintains relationships with program partners overseas; delivers programs that support the Council’s goals and the interests of the various delegations and accompanies international delegations from a variety of political and cultural backgrounds as they travel throughout Australia.

The Human Resources Team (HR) within COMCAR is responsible for providing HR services across COMCAR that include workplace conditions, work health and safety, recruitment, performance, workplace conditions, WHS, recruitment and performance. The team is also responsible for policy and procedure development and advice in line with Corporate HR.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

As a member of the COMCAR Team, you will be a part of a high level, customer-focussed service delivery operation providing effective management of transportation services to a range of VIP clients in all states and territories.

Drivers and staff are geographically dispersed in most capital cities however most of the workforce is primarily based in Canberra.

As a **COMCAR Human Resources (HR) Officer** you will be required to manage complex work effectively with little direction.

Your duties will include:

- Actively participate as a member of the COMCAR HR Team contributing to the delivery of consistent outcomes.
- Support the delivery of ongoing recruitment processes, including approvals, selection, commencement and on boarding of new staff.
- Provide guidance and support on all areas of HR including workplace conditions, WHS, performance, payroll, change and staffing matters.
- Assist with development of workforce strategy for COMCAR.
- Support the HR Team in producing outcomes in line with the Department of Finance policies and procedures.
- Develop training solutions for COMCAR staff.
- Assist with the successful delivery of all programs within COMCAR.
