The Role

The fundamental part of this role is to provide strategic advice and drive implementation for the development of Country Road Group’s climate and environment strategy. You will manage reporting for the key areas of renewable energy, climate, water, waste, recycling and packaging, aligning to our Good Business Journey.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the development of climate and environmental strategies, roadmaps and KPIs for Country Road Group, aligned to the Good Business Journey, and manage initiatives to reduce climate and environmental impacts and waste in our business and our supply chain.
- Monitor regulatory, competitor and media developments relating to climate and environmental issues and advise Country Road Group for strategic direction as appropriate.
- Work with our partners and supply chain to influence solutions and initiatives for energy efficiency, decarbonisation, waste and environmental impacts.
- Review and develop monitoring and reporting systems to track climate and environmental impacts and initiatives, including energy use, expenditure and investment in efficiency.
- Assess and build business case for future climate and environment initiatives (incl. discovery and analysis, tender documentation, cost/benefit analysis, planning) to ensure a constant supply of projects to mitigate rising costs and minimise environmental impacts.
- Develop and implement internal and external communications to support implementation, meet regulatory requirements and keep pace with retail industry
- Manage data collection and entry activities, review dataset to ensure transparency and validity and prepare internal and external data driven reporting requirements.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the environment/sustainability field
- Project/program management skills
- Experience with development and implementation of strategy, project plans and internal communications plans
- General Microsoft Office competencies with advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, reporting and writing skills
- Experience working with management and influencing stakeholders
- Interpersonal communication, relationship management, negotiation and people skills
- A broad knowledge of environmental and social issues in fashion, retail innovation and best practice, and experience working with NGOs, non-profits or sustainable business projects is desirable
