- The position is part-time (0.8 FTE) until 31 Dec 2024.
About the Role
NeuRA Research Assistants are appointees who have technical and scientific qualifications and perform tasks that would usually require technical or scientific training. Research Assistants do not generally have a PhD.

Research Theme: Dementia Prevention
Project Title: CogDrisk

- Contributions to research_
- contribute to research, e.g. through conduct of research-related procedures, development of research-related resources, or design or operation of laboratory and technical equipment
- Provide quality research output, e.g. as a co-author of peer-reviewed scientific papers
- Participate in professional activities, e.g. attendance and participation in conferences and seminars in his/her field of expertise
- Other contributions to the research team and to NeuRA_
- Contribute to the functioning of a cooperative, efficient and harmonious research team
- Provide support to other members of the research team
- Supervision of other members of the research team
- Contribute to NeuRA outside of the research team
- Exemplify NeuRA’s values in all your interactions with fellow researchers, operations and foundation staff as well as NeuRA contractors and collaborators
- Other duties commensurate with the role, as reasonably required
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Preparing research ethics proposals
- Assisting in studies to validate dementia risk assessment tools
- Data cleaning and data analysis of large datasets under supervision
- Assist with participant recruitment and focus groups
- Preparing surveys and focus group questions
- Liaising with web-developers to design and improve an online dementia risk assessment tool
- Assisting with literature reviews, reports, publications and research presentations
- Maintaining online folder systems
- Other research administration as required
The key selection criteria for this position includes:
Essential:
- Honours degree in Psychology or equivalent and additional post-honours research experience (essential)
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, literature reviews
- Project Management in a health-related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable:
- Demonstrated experience in ageing research and or dementia risk reduction
- Confidence in using analysis packages
- Knowledge of human research ethics and behavioural and survey data collection methodologies
- Experience with focus groups
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work well independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
