UMA is looking for a Communications and Engagement Manager to join the team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. This is a unique opportunity to create high impact both within UMA, and in our wider music community. We support culture though the power of artistry and believe that every team within UMA plays a role in this unique and inspiring company vision. Reporting to the People, Inclusion and Culture SVP, this position will be fundamental in leading UMA’s internal and external communications strategy for Australia and New Zealand.

About the role:
- Manage and lead the end-to-end development and execution of an external communications plan for UMA and its business strategy.- Support the Executive Leadership Team (including the President & CEO) and key business leaders to ensure that we effectively communicate internal messaging that reflects the strategic priorities and values of UMA.- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including the UMA President, CFO, SVP People, Inclusion and Culture, SVP Legal and Business Affairs, MDs of record labels and other key departments, including the global communications team.- Be the primary contact for all inbound corporate media enquiries.- Provide management and oversight of all aspects of corporate media relations output and coordination, including creation of press releases, holding statements, Q&As, key message documents, and briefing documents.- Experience working across different communication verticals, including corporate affairs, public affairs, media relations, consumer/marketing and internal engagement.- Provide communications support on the internal culture program and initiatives.- Keep abreast of relevant topics in the media and be aware of all topical and relevant media coverage.- Oversee the design process of corporate reports and documents and be able to guide the direction of its look and feel, as well as the ability to edit and draft copy where necessary.- Manage any issues or crises-related matters as they arise and be able to provide communications advice to internal stakeholders.- Work with the global communications team on all communications materials, and announcements.- Understand the complexity of working within a global organization, with the ability to determine the communications needs of a variety of teams with different responsibilities.- Receive briefs from stakeholders across the business and be able to ideate and execute any communication support.

About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communication or PR.- +5 years professional experience in the communications landscape.- Experience working within a complex, global business would be preferred, bonus points if you’ve had experience in Entertainment/Media- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. We need someone who can take complex information and turn it into simple and clear messages for a variety of audiences and channels.- Demonstrated experience of managing a clear and adaptable internal and external communications program within a complex global organization.- Must be able to balance strategic priorities with fast paced operational day-to-day tasks- Ambitious self-starter who is comfortable and confident to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.- Deadlines and quality matter to you.- Finally, a genuine interest and passion for all things music
