**The Role**
The APS5 Contract Management Officer is accountable for achieving high-level administrative tasks related to the Directorate of Living Services (DLS) products, and responsible to Defence customers and contracted service providers. The APS5 Contract Management Officer is accountable, under limited direction, to perform and achieve moderately complex contractual activities in support of service delivery to the Housekeeping, and Laundry & Dry Cleaning product lines within the wider Base Services Contract.
Duties include:
- Daily use of the SAP based Garrison Estate Management System (GEMS) to process contractor invoicing in line with contract requirements.
- Coordinate administrative and business support activities for a team and other work areas, identify risks and determine appropriate course of action to meet stakeholder needs.
- Accountable to perform complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support activities and tasks that support the delivery of outcomes across Defence.
- Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes.
- Work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships, and provide constructive feedback with all assigned tasks.
- Take the initiative to progress work to meet business objectives, and provide timely advice and guidance on more complex issues.
- Resolve problems in a timely manner and implement alternative courses of action as required.
- Accountable to develop and implement procedural, operational, corporate, administrative and business support documentation consistent with business requirements.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.
**About our Team**
The Directorate of Living Services (DLS) within the Estate Service Delivery branch of SDD is responsible for the planning, development and management of Living Service products delivered under the Base Services Contract. These products include hospitality & catering, housekeeping, laundry & dry-cleaning, sport & recreation, Pest & Vermin and Waste Management. DLS is also responsible for the management of the delivery of cleaning services across the Defence estate.
In addition, DLS is the national lead for the provision of Other Plant & Equipment ‘Living Accommodation’ assets (furniture and equipment) to support Messes, Live-in accommodation and Area Gymnasiums.
Their strong stakeholder engagement skills allow them to act collaboratively within a diverse team of Defence and Contractor staff. Through their well-developed written and verbal communication skills they are able to engage all stakeholders effectively. Experience with GEMS software is highly desirable.
