**How will I help?**

We are seeking a highly skilled UX Researcher for a 12-month career break backfill. You'll be embedded in the internet banking team (Forrrestor awarded as Australia's #1 banking app, 2023) and help create experiences that truly delight our customers. A researcher with strong analytical, communication, leadership and thought leadership skills, who has demonstrated industry experience using qualitative and quantitative methods to solve complex problems.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading user research initiatives and provide valuable insights about users needs, goals and behaviours to inform experience design and development. Working in an agile environment collaborating with UX designers, product owners, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure that our experiences meet the needs of our customers as well as business objectives. In addition to delivering impactful experiences, you'll help build our research practice, capability, and empower others to facilitate their own research.

**Responsibilities**

The role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- End to end research activities; planning, recruitment, execution, synthesis, development of insights and presenting findings
- Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions using HCD methodologies to define problem space, generate ideation and develop research briefs and methodologies to gain actional insights
- Build wireframes and prototypes to aid research activities and outcomes
- Develop compelling research summaries analysing data to identify key insights and trends
- Confidently present research outcomes to senior stakeholders and teams
- Develop quarterly plans to manage variety of research initiatives based on milestones for digital roadmap delivery
- Actively support value streams and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and solve problems aligned to customer needs and conceptualise solutions to inform the roadmap
- Link customer insights to relevant program initiatives
- Collaborate with other UX Researchers and Research Ops to improve research practices, capabilities and ways of working
- Mentor designers to develop skills and empower them to facilitate their own research
- Contribute to developing our culture, take an active role engage and share knowledge with the design community
- Build relationships and partner with customer insights and data analytics teams across Westpac

**What do I need?**
- Minimum of 3+ years of proven 'hands-on' experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects in digital channels
- Great communication, storytelling and reporting skills
- Financial services experience is welcome but not a must
- Extensive experience working collaboratively with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
