**Are you a skilled communications and PR professional? Zoos SA is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our passionate team.**

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day social media coordination of Zoos SA platforms and will involve the planning, creation, curating and management of these platforms as well as instigating new platforms and ideas.

This role will also include some media liaison, communications, and photography and videography. Specifically, this role implements PR, media and communications strategies to build awareness of the Zoos SA’s conservation efforts and drive attendance to Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park.

This is a key role in the marketing and fundraising team and has the following responsibilities:

- The day-to-day coordination of external communications such as:

- Planning, monitoring and responding to all social media channels and community management
- The day-to-day coordination of internal communications such as:

- Compilation of weekly Keeping Track newsletter
- The day-to-day coordination of content development including:

- Devise world-class PR, social media, communication and influencer marketing strategies
- Support the development and production of the Zoos SA Annual Report, Tourism Awards, and the Zoo Times magazine
- Assist with the development of marketing and fundraising collateral including preparing communications for senior staff members.
- Coordinate content for the Zoos SA YouTube account, including creating (filming and editing) relevant and regular zoo content.
- Coordinate volunteer photographers to ensure regular supply of photography for use on social media and in communications collateral.
- Film, edit and supply of images
- Preparation of media materials
- Engagement with key stakeholders including:

- Consumer PR and media relations to positively position Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park and promote our products, experiences, and events.
- Media/influencer hosting and filming coordination
- Records and reporting
- Ensure the media contact database is up to date.
- Compile a range of reports including and not limited to: departmental reports, sponsorship reports, campaign reports, social media and board reports.
- Assist with events at Zoos SA such as but not limited to Light Creatures, Boo at the Zoo, Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Special Conditions:
As per RZSSA Collective Agreement, plus;
- May be required to work at any Zoos SA location
- Required to obtain and provide a National Police Certificate
- Requested to obtain and maintain recommended Immunisations
- Required to retain relevant licences, qualifications and/or accreditations
- A 6 month probationary period applies to all roles
- Duties are performed under general direction moving to broad direction depending on experience.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends

**ABOUT YOU...**

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in communications, marketing or journalism
- Media relations, public relations and communications experience
- Well-developed writing skills and experience in creating content
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadline
- Undertake multiple activities at the same time; and, manage stakeholder expectations
- A team player with an enthusiastic work ethic and natural customer service skills
- Good level of analytical and observational skills
- Demonstrated high level skills in problem solving, expressing ideas, planning & coordinating activities
- High level of experience in a wide range of computer packages
- Desirable skills, experience & knowledge:

- Videography and video editing skills will be highly advantageous
- First Aid Skills and willingness to maintain a qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a tourism facility or similar
- Conservation, science or research background
- Knowledge of the South Australian media landscape.
