You will be accountable for the operations, planning and delivery of all campus services, including campus operations, project and asset maintenance, leased properties, print room and mail services.

Reporting to the Head of Campus Services & Infrastructure (CSI), the Operations Manager is a member of the CSI Leadership Group (CSILG) as well as a member of the Broader Campus Service, Infrastructure and ITS (CSIIT) Leadership Forum.

The Operations Manager manages the building and grounds cleaning, maintenance and repairs in order to maintain a safe, clean and fit-for-purpose environment for campus staff and students. The role will have a focus on contract management, workplace health and safety (WHS), customer service and responsive maintenance.

The Operations Manager will liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, education delivery teams and professional staff; and will manage the timely response to maintenance requests.

Your key accountabilities will be to:

- Lead the operations team in providing high-quality, customer-centric responses to maintenance requests
- Maintain current understanding of government policies and procedures relating to CSI procurement activities and manage procurement processes to meet government requirements
- Identify and leverage opportunities critical to excellence in operational activities
- Be able to carry out commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, consultants and authorities within established limits of authority
- Comply with Government procurement guidelines and directions when sourcing and contracting for project deliverables
- Provide out-of-hours emergency response
- Manage the front-facing functions to achieve service level standards and continuously improved customer satisfaction.

**ABOUT YOU**

You will have a relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualification in Facilities Management or similar or demonstrated practical experience in this area.

Crucial to your success will be your success at a leadership level in facilities management, your experience within a VET facilities environment and your ability to manage large complex contracts.

You are highly motivated and have strong leadership skills, you are able to effectively manage a dispersed team, you have excellent stakeholder management skills, experience in the development and administration of budgets, your working knowledge of risk management principles and processes and your experience in contract administration and procurement.
