Manager Resource Readiness

Lead the strategic planning and management of the Workforce Planning Unit to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of workforce planning and rostering to the Region.
- Lead the strategic planning and management of the Resource Readiness Coordinator in delivery of fleet and equipment services to support regional management and staff.
- Manage regional timesheet processes, including collation, audit and associated quality assurance in accordance with QAS payroll guidelines.
- Provide authoritative advice to QAS managers related to the rostering of operational staff.
- Provide expert advice to managers and supervisors in relation to approval of staff entitlements.
- Develop and manage strategic planning submissions for assets (fleet and equipment), and coordinate programs that complement the QAS facilities management planning strategy.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of regional strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures by providing high level workforce planning and fleet and equipment management advice.
- Plan and undertake fleet vehicle procurement and the allocation and disposal of fleet related assets in an efficient and cost-effective manner, to meet operational requirements.
- Manage the vehicle fleet through operationally and cost-effective maintenance contracts, including monitoring all contracts with external service providers to ensure compliance and continuing effectiveness and value for money.
- Ensure that adequate reporting is undertaken and provide analysis of fleet data and expenditure.
- Prepare, specify and monitor regional Standing Offer Arrangements (SOAs) for the provision of external maintenance services and contracts for vehicles and equipment.
- Plan and implement operational equipment requirements and develop processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure the ongoing relevance and functionality of operational equipment.
- Provide specialist advice to minimise any adverse impact on the operational effectiveness of regional fleet and equipment.
- Provide specialist advice in the review and analysis of relevant policies and practices to ensure they continue to support the needs and legislative requirements of QAS.
- Analyse operational statistical information and prepare schedules and reports on a weekly and monthly basis for the regional management team and regional governance meetings.
- Manage rostering support for emergency management capability for disasters, major incidents and mass crowd gatherings.
- Manage compliance with legislation, regulations and policy relating to QAS assets.
- As a leader, actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms.
- Model and influence a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.
