The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia’s national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. We are a full member of the National Intelligence Community, an Attorney General’s Portfolio agency, and a member of the Five Eyes Law Enforcement Group.

The ACIC also plays a critical role in facilitating the National Police Checking Service (NPCS), by providing an ICT system that allows Accredited Bodies and Police to provide Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks to the Australian community.

**About the branch**
The ACIC partners with Australian police agencies to provide the National Police Checking Service (NPCS or the Service). The NPCS helps to protect the safety of the community by minimising the risk of appointing someone unsuitable to a position of trust. The service is delivered to Australian police agencies and organisations who are accredited with the ACIC to submit Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks (police checks).

The NPCS accredits organisations known as accredited bodies to perform functions on behalf of the ACIC for individuals accessing the Service.

The NPCS Branch undertakes a range of quality assurance activities to assist with accuracy and to ensure the smooth operation and continuity of the service. We also perform matching work for police checks, contract, onboard and train newly accredited organisations and provide an ongoing customer and contract management service for our accredited organisations.

**About the role**
The Advisor of the Compliance and Audit team will provide excellent customer support to the accredited bodies to ensure they remain compliant with their contractual obligations and minimise risk to the Service.
- Conducting regular audits to assess each accredited body’s operation, procedures, practices and documents to ensure they adhere to the requirements of the Service
- Managing education and action plans in response to adverse audit findings
- Providing end to end technical and customer support for the technical on boarding of Accredited Bodies
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify their business needs, reach agreement on the business objectives and gain commitment to achieving results.
- Uses well-developed written and oral communication skills to develop communication material for internal and external stakeholders
- Preparing correspondence, reports and briefs
- Developing and delivering high quality documentation which may include business process models, system requirements and system design documentation for new and existing systems
- Investigating system issues and escalate as required for resolution

**Desirable qualifications**
- Certificate IV in Government investigations background preferred but not mandatory

**Eligibility**

All ACIC employees are required to hold a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, unless otherwise specified.
