A Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria is seeking a legally qualified individual to be their associate, commencing January 2023. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a multifaceted, dynamic role, within the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Admission to practice is not essential.
Experience or interest in public law and administrative law is desirable. Some post admission experience in a law firm or similar is an advantage, but is not essential.
The position will be for a period of 12 months.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in person, and via written communication to members of the legal profession, the public and the media are essential to these roles. As are excellent proofreading skills, proficiency in grammar and an excellent academic record.

**Duties include**:

- Performing administrative tasks within the judge's chambers and administrative assistance to the judge during hearings;
- Preparing research memoranda and assisting in the production of judgments, including proofreading and editing;
- Liaising with Court staff, the public and the profession;
- Clerking in court; and
- Accompanying the Judge to circuit courts in regional Victoria, as and when required.
