**Dedicated 12-month fixed term (6 months Paediatric Emergency Registrar / 6 months General Paediatric Medical Registrar) commencing February 2024. This job is part of the commonwealth STP Program.**
- 12-month term comprising a 6-month Registrar role in an accredited Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) and a 6-month registrar role in an accredited General Paediatric Medicine Department.
- Suitable for ACEM, RACP and PEM (Paediatric Emergency Medicine) trainees.
In this position, trainees will experience both sides of the paediatric emergency/inpatient interface, gaining comprehensive paediatric medical and acute care experience. During their 6 months in the Paediatric Emergency Department, successful applicants to this position will also have rostered non-clinical time for involvement in teaching, quality improvement activities and professional/clinical development.
4 hours of paid protected education is provided each week.
**About Flinders Medical Centre Paediatric Services**
Our Paediatric Emergency Department sees 15,000-18,000 paediatric presentations each year and is an integrated service within one of the busiest tertiary mixed Emergency Departments in Australia. We are accredited by ACEM for up to 12 months of training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (18 months for PEM trainees). In addition, our accredited on-site Paediatric Medical Unit oversees over 3000 admissions each year, encompasses the state-wide Paediatric Eating Disorders Unit, and oversees one of three Child Protection Units in South Australia. We also have an onsite neonatal ICU and access to a range of surgical services catering to paediatric patients.
**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking enthusiastic PEM, ACEM or RACP Advanced Trainees for this 12-month combined Paediatric Emergency/Paediatric Medicine year. Full-time applicants only. Split terms only by negotiation.
**Renumeration**: $110,340 - $131,243 per annum plus $8,000 per annum of claimable professional development funds. Up to $10,000 reimbursement provided for doctors relocating from interstate or overseas.
