In the Technology Innovation team, we accelerate innovation through providing thought leadership, facilitation, rapid experimentation and enabling platforms to test & scale new emerging technology opportunities.

**About the role**:
As the Iteration Manager you will provide leadership within the team through effective facilitation, coordination, mentoring and coaching under the agile methodology and is responsible for keeping the team focused on the initiative goals and removing impediments along the way so they may deliver maximum value to the customer through the effective delivery of technology initiatives.

Working in an innovation team, you will provide leadership across a number of small squads working on a number of early-stage innovation initiatives where the outcome is unknown and the work is often exploratory in nature.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

- Assess the Agile maturity of the squads and organisation and coach the squads to higher levels of maturity
- Organise and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-up, backlog grooming, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, showcases and Sprint retrospective meetings
- Organise and facilitate quarterly PI planning
- As a Servant Leader, ensure Agile concepts and principles are adhered to, in addition to acting as the “voice of reason and authority” to make the tough calls
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of collaboration and problem solving
- Support and educate the team, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and open collaboration
- Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
- Facilitate efficient flow of tasks across the Jira board
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Follow up promptly to resolve any bottlenecks making sure that the squads have the resources they need,
- Assist in uplifting ways of working across the team, including front door process (how backlog and opportunities are captured) and managing team knowledge repositories.
- Drive project governance including managing time, cost, quality, risks, teams, and communication to enable successful outcomes

**About you and your skills**:

- Ability and demonstrated experience working in complex environment within cross functional and highly collaborative delivery squads
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Experienced in using Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement and building autonomous squads
- Experienced in numerous well documented patterns and techniques (example: numerous Burndown/ Burnup techniques, numerous Stand-up and Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage project governance, scheduling, financial and resource management, change control, risks, issues, and assumptions
- Demonstrated awareness in applicable IT project management processes
- Strong skills in written and oral communication; must be able to present formally or informally
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment on experimental projects where the outcome is unknown and plans change based on new learnings. A start up mindset is valued (able to wear many hats and move at pace) whilst still maintaining a corporate respect for risk.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant post-secondary qualification (in technology/ digital engineering discipline)
- Qualification in one or more Agile approaches: XP, Lean, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. - preferred
- Stakeholder management skills
