Principal Property Services Officer

Key Responsibilities
**As Principal Property Services Officer, you will specifically**:
Property and Related Services
- Deliver cost effective and value for money services and solutions, covering activities such as: construction: office accommodation: leasing; fit outs and refurbishments; minor works; maintenance; security; relocations and Essential Services.
- Develop detailed project budgets, monitoring spending against forecasts, prioritising investments based on strategic value, and maintaining compliance with financial controls and corporate governance standards.
- Overseeing scheduling, managing budgets, allocating resources effectively, liaising with stakeholders, mitigating risks, and ensuring that all projects within the program meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Maintaining clear communication and ensuring that milestones are met.
- Manage, capture, and maintain relevant and reliable asset related information and whole-of-life costs to facilitate decision making, operational assets planning and delivery of desired service levels.
- Co-ordinate, develop and maintain effective asset and capability management accountability and direction across the Service through strong and genuine engagement of internal and external clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Guide and support team members to enhance their professional development, performance, and overall job satisfaction. This role involves providing personalised mentorship, fostering skill development, and offering feedback to empower staff to meet both personal and organisational goals.
- Adopt and promote a continuous improvement philosophy by maintaining an in depth knowledge of property and asset management best practices and leveraging any emerging opportunities to achieve improved outcomes for the department.
- Maintain a relevant knowledge of the requirements under the Workplace Health and Safety Act (2011) and other relevant government policies and frameworks to ensure the management of risks and safeguards of the interests of all employees.
- Provide expert advice to partner agencies and internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development implementation and maintenance of effective administrative systems and procedures, providing advice and assistance to stakeholders (Customers, Clients and suppliers) on their implementation.
Collaboration
- Build and maintain positive professional and productive working relationships with stakeholders (customers, clients and suppliers)
- Provide advice to, and work collaboratively with, stakeholders (Customers, Clients and suppliers) to develop strategies and facilitate outcomes ensuring appropriate linkages and consistency with whole-of-government and departmental frameworks and policies.
Continuous Improvement
- Use initiative and developed decision-making and problem-solving skills to assess and provide recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure effective delivery of priorities, processes, and procedures.
Capability Development
- Promote a team culture of best practice, continuous improvement, high performance and accountability.
