**About this opportunity**

This role will coordinate and assist in the delivery of training in an effective and efficient manner to all Rolling Stock staff, that meets operational training standards and is in accordance with requirements under relevant legislative standards for worker competence and safety critical roles.
Reporting to the Manager, Training, Reporting & Administration a typical week in this role involves:

- Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house).
- Develop and coordinate the delivery of annual training plans.
- Provide expert and timely advise to the Manager, Training, Reporting & Admin on training issues, risks and opportunities.
- Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes).
- Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.
- Gather feedback from trainers and trainees for continuous improvements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design.
- Drive efficient data recording and monitoring of outstanding training and training completion.
- Maintain training records in the Learning Management System.
- Research and recommend new training methods.
- Assist in development/implementation of fit for purpose training systems and processes.
- Deliver and/or assist in delivery of training on needs basis

**About you**

Ideally you will have:

- Qualification in Certificate IV in training and assessment (TAA or TAE) (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of the Transport Act, and occupational health & safety practices and policies.
- Understanding of equal employment, discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying legislation.
- Experience in positively influencing others.
- Experience in a transport or other similar operational training environment.
- Understanding of the principles of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and understanding of training needs analysis and evaluation processes.
- The ability to translate complex concepts into ‘plain language’ and be able to easily adapt your communication style to different audiences.
