**About the role**
In this temporary role, your primary focus will be the development, oversight and implementation of a range of innovative projects and initiatives to strengthen outcomes for local children and families, particularly families experiencing vulnerability in our community. You will also provide strategic advice and assistance with the research, planning and evaluation requirements of the broader Council’s early years programs and activities.
**Work type: Temporary Full Time - 12 months**
**Classification: Band 7 $100,064 - $110,990 (pa plus super)**
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide effective and strong leadership of a team of multidisciplinary practitioners to deliver family support programs and projects.
- Lead and provide strategic advice to Family Service Development staff to assist in identifying and addressing emerging needs and service gaps for local child and family services.
- Monitor and advise on the implications arising from Commonwealth and State Government funding policies and program developments.
- Represent DFFH funded programs at relevant program specific meetings and dissemination relevant information as needed to teams.
- Develop and implement relevant program/project implementation plans and quality review processes including preparation of reports as required.
**About you**
Essential Experience:
- Relevant qualifications and professional experience in Community Services, Allied Health or similar discipline
- Current Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and oversee program delivery based on the needs of local communities.
- Experience in research and understanding of data collection, evaluation and analysis of program effectiveness and efficiency.
- Detailed knowledge or ability to efficiently gain knowledge, about local early childhood and family services and the factors that impact on the development of young children.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of regulatory and key requirements of National and State guidelines associated with programs delivered within Family Services Development Business unit as well as knowledge of Family Services funding and service systems, government policy and statutory requirements.
