**The Department**

The Digital Health Division is responsible for enabling clinical staff to deliver timely, quality care to our patients and carers through innovative use of information technologies, and through strategic management of information and data across the organisation.

**The Role**

The Medical Officer for Clinical Informatics supports relevant stakeholders to develop and support the continued enhancement and adoption of clinical information systems, this includes:

- the optimisation of the EMR;
- to optimise the clinical information systems with new initiatives;
- to use clinical data to drive improvements and practice.

The Medical Officer for Clinical Informatics role is to analyse informatics needs of doctors and the multidisciplinary teams in which doctors are integral members. Their understanding of medical workflows, the capabilities of digital health systems, and the relationships they build with key stakeholders, will be crucial to the success of the optimisation and/or projects they lead. This role will include coordination and prioritisation of their optimisation portfolio and managing clinical data requirements to support the build of reports and/or dashboards.

**The Skills**

Essential:

- MBBS or equivalent.
- Experience working with Cerner systems or an electronic medical record.
- Strong interpersonal skills in managing multiple stakeholders and teams across concurrent streams of development work.
- Aptitude for problem solving and using technology and tools to improve processes.
- Excellent team player who values diversity and demonstrates respect at all times.

Desirable:

- Experience in health informatics or certification.
- Experience in training (1:1 and groups), presenting and public speaking.
- Experience performing business analysis activities in a healthcare environment.
- Experience in project co-ordination, delivery, including process mapping/modelling in a healthcare setting.
