The Informatics Department provides a comprehensive support service toThe Clincal Informatics Officer ( Stork) role sits within the Informatics Department which has 4 key portfolios:

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Business Intelligence & Analytics
  • Health Information Services
  • Archives.


The EMR is used by more than 18,000 clinicians and staff across the four health services and is delivered in partnership with Epic, a global leader in health information technology.


Your contribution


The Clinical Informatics Officer is primarily responsible for the design, build, testing, configuration, installation and support of EMR improvements and service requests placed by maternity services at The Women's.

This role is also required to provide support to for other non-maternity departments as directed by the Senior Clinical Informatics Analysts and/or Director of Informatics.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provide support & system configuration for clinical documentation across all maternity services for both inpatient & outpatient workflows
  • Review, analyse, evaluate and document system needs to develop fit for purpose workflows
  • Work collaboraively with RWH EMR team, Parkville EMR team and all key stakeholders within the Women's

About you
To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • A clinical background and/or skills and exeprience in midwifery
  • Demonstrated understanding of report writing, data analysis and data management tools
