**The Role**

There are two ongoing APS4 positions for enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starters available in Defence Property Management Branch (PM Branch) within the Directorate of Estate Disposals & Overseas Leasing (DEDOL).

An APS 4 Estate Property Officer will assist in the management, development, and delivery of real property outcomes in accordance with key Commonwealth policies and legislation, including providing assistance with leased accommodation for personnel overseas and the national program for disposal of surplus Defence real estate property that supports Defence’s current estate objectives and management.

A merit pool may be created to fill similar vacancies in property management support roles.

**About our Team**
PM Branch are responsible for the management and future direction of Defence’s real estate transactions in alignment with the Defence Estate Strategy 2016-2036 and the 2023 Defence Strategic Review.

DEDOL’s primary role is to divest of approved surplus Defence estate in accordance with the Commonwealth Property Disposal Policy, Lands Acquisition Act 1989 and the broader estate objectives from the 2023 Defence Strategic Review. The directorate is also responsible for the management of international leased accommodation in support of personnel posted to embassies and the commensurate chancery facilities as well as strategic project management and delivery for key projects such as new embassy fit-outs.

DEDOL provides an opportunity to engage in a range of project management activities working collaboratively with a range of expert industry advisors to determine the highest-and-best use outcomes to facilitate the sale of surplus Defence and Commonwealth estate and management of overseas leased accommodation. DEDOL places a strong emphasis on enhancing a positive and supportive workplace environment.
