**About the role**:
The Alcohol and Drug Service Community Outpatient Manager, is required to deliver an overarching strategy and approach for St. Vincent’s ADS in the provision of treatment for clients of Stimulant Services, ADS-Outpatient and Burton Street Centre youth service. The position provides leadership to a range of professionals including Registered Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Youth counsellors, Family Therapists and Counsellors to ensure quality service delivery.

The position is required to ensure that various Outpatient services operate within financial and operational performance targets. It is responsible in supporting quality improvement initiatives and models of care within the Alcohol and Drug service to maximise client care and best practice evidence based treatment. It is required to represent St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney at committees, meetings and forums relevant to various ADS Community services and participate in the development of alcohol and drug policies, procedures and services.

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Tertiary qualification in a health related discipline and/or demonstrated knowledge/experience of health policy, priorities and treatment in relation to the drug and alcohol field.
3. Demonstrated experience or skills in leading multi-disciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective day to day operations, for example risk management, and workplace health and safety.
4. Demonstrated ability to motivate and co-ordinate staff and drive projects to achieve organisational and professional goals and quality improvement initiatives.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of contemporary drug and alcohol treatment including counselling, brief interventions, and pharmacotherapy within a harm minimisation framework.
6. Ability to provide input in the development and evaluation of policy, procedures and standards of care to ensure high quality service delivery
7. Proven effective negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) with a wide range of stakeholders including patients, public and network representatives.
8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
