**Job Specific Duties**
As the Assistant Director you will be responsible for:

- providing leadership and promoting business continuity, and emergency management processes across the organisation, including managing and maintaining business continuity and emergency management frameworks
- developing, implementing and managing protective security across the agency in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and represent NHMRC at relevant fora
- providing high-level advice and support to the agency executive and stakeholders on security, business continuity and facilities matters
- reporting on business continuity, security and property operations including PSPF, Australian Government Property Reporting, and other external and internal reporting requirements
- collaborating across NHMRC and working with stakeholders to understand and manage business continuity, security operations and accommodation requirements and adapt them to evolving business needs
- development and management of NHMRC’s accommodation strategy, including Property Management Plan and associated polices, Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) Property and leasing requirements and facilitating future arrangements
- leading and developing a small team to deliver day-to-day security, business continuity, emergency management and facilities operations.

- Encourages and motivates junior staff, guiding, developing, and supporting team members to achieve results
- Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Ability to adapt to changing organisation needs, manage competing priorities and deliver work under tight timeframes.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Formal qualifications in Government Security, Business Continuity or Emergency Management would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated skills or experience in the development of accommodation strategies or facilities management is desirable but not essential.
