Boeing is seeking an experienced **Government Relations Specialist **to join our Government relations team to be based in Sydney (ideally), Canberra or Melbourne.

Reporting directly to Boeing’s President for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, the role encompasses key elements of government relations on behalf of the Boeing Company, and will support our senior government relations leader based in Canberra, as well as other essential administrative tasks as directed.

The Government Relations Specialist is expected to be actively involved in working with Boeing’s executive management and administration leads. Areas of particular policy interest are defence, security, aviation, space, telecommunications, industrial relations, environmental and social, manufacturing, innovation, and science.

As a Government relations specialist, development and oversight of Boeing’s relationship with governments, oppositions, and parliaments is at the heart of this role. You will demonstrate your experience in navigating complex organisations and operating in highly technical, innovative regulated environments, and will bring superior administrative support experience and understanding to the role.

In this position you will serve as a specialist consultant to management for the purposes of:

- Working with the Head of Government Affairs for Australia for direction on the development of coordinated strategies for the engagement of key government officials and stakeholders regarding the impact of government's activity on Boeing business interests;
- Developing and maintaining relations with government officials, building stable contacts, and developing a positive perception among key stakeholders;
- Providing high-value intelligence on political and policy dynamics of interest to Boeing while monitoring legislative, regulatory, and political activities in areas of interest;
- Leading across a broad range of administrative tasks including analysis, presentations, and provision of briefings to support senior Boeing executives;
- Establishing and maintaining the presence and reputation of the Boeing Company by building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, potential partners, government, business, community, and other leaders in Australia.

**Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Customer engagement; shaping and contributing to public policy on behalf of Boeing; engaging and consulting with peak industry bodies, regulators, government authorities, and employee representative organisations;
- Building and sustaining stakeholder relationships;
- Assessing and reporting on political developments which influence the business climate, as well as key administrative leadership and support to Boeing’s President of Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
- Supervising the creation of specialist reports and documentation (e.g., development of thought leadership articles, as well as employee labour reports, expense reports, key federal/state/local reports) related to spending, government engagement, ethics and gratuities in order to comply with local/state/Federal laws and regulations and Boeing requirements.

**To be successful you will have**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to think critically and comprehend complex technical concepts Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required
- Experience in stakeholder engagement within a large or matrixed organisation;
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment and as part of a multi-disciplinary team focussed on continuous improvement;
- 7+ years experience in a similar field.

**Eligibility**
