This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The Government Relations Manager will act as the primary point of contact for all government-related matters and is responsible for representing Montu’s interests to local, state and federal government officials and agencies. A key responsibility is to establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders working to achieve Montu’s strategic and operations goals.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key liaison between Montu and government officials and agencies to advance Montu’s interest and influence public policy.
- Monitor and track relevant legislation and regulations, and provide updates and analysis to internal stakeholders.
- Lead the identification, planning and execution of a government relationships calendar of activity.
- Coordinate with internal teams to develop and execute strategies to advance Montu’s interests with government officials and agencies.
- Attend and represent Montu at government meetings, hearings, and other events.
- Prepare and submit written comments and testimony on proposed legislation and regulations.
- Work with external advocacy organisations and coalitions to advance Montu’s interests and build and maintain positive relationships with government officials and agencies.
- Advocating for or against specific policies or legislation that affects Montu and its stakeholders.
- People Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team by providing clear leadership, direction and support to employees, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
- Promote the empowerment and growth of staff by providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and manage team performance to achieve individual and departmental goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and processes, taking timely and fair action in instances of unsatisfactory performance or conduct.
- Support and promote a working environment and services that are inclusive, accessible and celebrate diversity.
- Set team OKRs and KPIs in relation to patient/customer satisfaction, NPS, and monitor metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
**Qualifications**
- Experience working in a tech company as part of a communications, campaigns, policy or government relations role
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as political science, public policy, or law
- 10+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven track record to build and maintain positive relationships with government officials and agencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrable experience planning and executing a campaigns based approach to issue advocacy
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
