The National Blood Authority (NBA) is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with the Commonwealth and all State and Territory governments and other responsible parties to ensure that Australia's blood supply is safe, secure, adequate and affordable.

**Job **C**ontext**

As part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) team, this role is responsible for providing leadership, management, coordination, and direction to the NBA’s ICT and Physical security responsibilities. The role will work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Chief Security Officer (CSO) and senior internal business stakeholders to build a shared understanding of expected outcomes, whilst managing competing priorities.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a demonstrated record of delivery across a range of security functions, supporting the agency’s compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM). The role will be responsible for working with stakeholders to develop security policy and processes, assess systems for security risks and provide advice on system sourcing and development on best practice.

**Primary Job Purpose**:
Although not exhaustive, the duties and responsibilities of this position will require you to:

- Establish, implement, monitor and review effective ICT and Protective Security practices and processes.
- Build effective relationships and negotiate outcomes with internal and external stakeholders, including with vendors.
- Lead the preparation and analyse of security policies, reports (including technical reports), and proposals and formulate recommendations for management and governance committees.
- Provide accurate and timely advice to other areas of the NBA on security risks and best practice.
- Contribute to NBA organisational strategy and culture, including a positive security culture.
- Work in a collaborative manner as a member of a team and across the NBA.
