**The Opportunity**:

- The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a high performing Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Assistant Director, Security Capability Projects to join the Security Enabling Services Branch, Security Division.

The Security Division is responsible for the provision of security services, building security, access management, security capability asset management, Australian Parliament House (APH) and DPS security policy, security risk management, resilience planning and emergency management.
- Security Division is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. We work closely with diverse stakeholders who have unique needs and engage with our service delivery. We liaise extensively with other federal agencies and parliamentary departments to manage security at APH.
- The role is required to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders to determine the capability requirements of the electronic security systems to meet operational requirements, identify gaps in capability requirements, define enhancements required and provide technical briefings to Information Services Division (ISD) project teams, vendors and external consultants who manage the budgets and project delivery. This role leads the implementation of change management, acceptance testing, transition to operations (including training) and communication with users of enhancements to the electronic security systems.

**Who we are looking for**:

- To be successful in this role you will be required to effectively manage relevant requirements under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) in the development and delivery of Electronic Security System (ESS) projects.

- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

- Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Define the capability requirements of Australian Parliament House (APH) security systems against the evolving threat landscape and provide assurance of the effectiveness of existing systems against these requirements.
Identify gaps in the capability requirements of APH security systems and define the requirements for enhancements and expansions to the systems.
Undertake the role of client representative on behalf of Security Operations Branch and Security Enabling Services Branch in working with inter departmental Information Services Division (ISD) project teams, vendors and external consultants.
Engage with users of electronic security systems to develop and specify requirements, provide technical briefings to ISD project teams, vendors and external consultants and ongoing monitoring to ensure that the project’s products will meet the needs of the users.
Facilitate engagement, change management, acceptance testing, transition to operations (including training) and communication with users.
Effectively manage relevant requirements under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) in the development and delivery of Electronic Security System (ESS) projects.
Build, maintain, shape and influence key partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and represent DPS at relevant meetings and activities.
Provide strategic support to the Assistant Secretary, Security Enabling Services Branch on delivery of security requirements, both immediate and long term.
