About the Role

The Administration Officer is a full time role on a maximum term agreement. Reporting to Professor Carolyn Sue, this role provides a range of administrative and clerical support services to enable the Neurodegenerative Outpatients Clinic which will be held in NeuRA.

Some of these subspecialty clinics include Mitochondrial and other Neurogenetic Disorders, Parkinson's Disease, and other Movement Disorders. They may also be required to assist with bookings for our clinical trials and research team.

Core key responsibilities for the role include:

- Provision of a range of administrative and clerical support services for patients attending the Neurodegenerative Outpatients Clinic which may include liaising with the Interpreter Service to organise appointments for non-English speaking patients.
- Daily preparation of clinics and appointments including patient registration, booking patient appointments, compilation of daily clinic lists, preparing medical records, printing labels and patient attendance sheets, data entry and maintenance of databases, identification of new patients and cancellations and appropriate recording in the Electronic Medical Record (eMR). This includes responsibility for billing processes.
- Management of patients' paper Medical Records including pre/post clinic collection, preparation filing tracking and returns, creation of files and updating personal details ensuring the accurate, confidential and safe storage of information.

The key selection criteria for this position includes:

- Previous experience in an administrative or customer service focused role.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high level quality and customer focused services
- Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks in a demanding work environment
- Experience in responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response
- Preferably experienced in relevant computer systems including; Microsoft Office, iPM, eMR, and PBRC and ability to learn relevant clinical information systems.
