**What you will be doing**:
An exciting opportunity is available to join the team at Lemongrove Campus as an Aboriginal Community Partnerships Coordinator. The position will work together with the Director and staff of the Aboriginal Health Unit to increase the appropriate and effective engagement between NBMLHD and the local Aboriginal Community to improve access, equity and outcomes for Aboriginal people facilitating our commitment to closing the gap. To gain and maintain the collaboration and respect of the Aboriginal community in relation to Aboriginal health matters on behalf of the NBMLHD.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

- The incumbent must be of Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander decent and identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in their local community. NBMLHD considers that being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational qualification under Section14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (d) (NSW).
- Proven ability in gaining and maintaining the collaboration and respect of the Aboriginal community. This includes the ability to consult and negotiate with senior stakeholder representatives on complex issues of a sensitive nature.
- Experience liaising and influencing stakeholders to promote, communicate and implement change and improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in leading culturally relevant projects for the Aboriginal Community.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures and services available to Aboriginal people residing in the Nepean Blue Mountains region.
- Demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills including influencing and negotiating skills, report writing skills with the ability to prepare high level briefs, reports, plans and documents.
- The incumbent must work in accordance to the NSW Health Code of Conduct and relevant professional Codes of Ethics.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to use it for work purposes.
