Western Sydney Nepean Blue Mountains District**This is an exciting and valuable opportunity to join a team of dedicated and passionate Permanency Coordinators within the Office of the Senior Practitioner in a role targeted for Aboriginal people.

We are seeking someone who has a strong ethical and cultural commitment to drive permanency outcomes for children and young people.

The successful applicant will be an energetic, passionate, self-motivated Aboriginal practitioner who can work within a collaborative team and use advocacy, relationships, communication and problem solving skills to do their role in a cultural way.


This role is targeted to Aboriginal people. We are also running a non-targeted general recruitment to build a Talent Pool across the Western Sydney Nepean Blue Mountains District.

About the Role:


Permanency Coordinators provide practice leadership, consultation and support to Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and Non-Government Organisation (NGO) staff.

They help to embed a culture that values and prioritises relational, physical, cultural and legal permanency for children and young people.

Permanency Coordinators provide consultation and support to help drive better outcomes for children, young people and their families by achieving permanency within a 2 year timeframe.

The position reports to the Manager of Practice and Permanency.

You will be supported in a cohesive, dynamic, and passionate team that works across Nepean Blue Mountains and Western Sydney Districts.

You will be required to be solution focused, work with autonomy and be responsible for managing your own workload and competing priorities while keeping children, young people and families at the centre of your work.


Essential requirements of the role:

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience with a minimum of 2 years experience in working with children, young people, families or communities in the area of child protection and/or outofhome care practice.
  • Current driver's licence and Working with Children Check.
